A DarcTyde Retro Arcade Game

THE GAME

Otto's family has been plagued by the mischievous "Incessant Annoyance of the Gleaming Orbs" for generations, and it's up to you to guide him through a quirky world filled with traps and absurd challenges. You must traverse the ancient Temple of Gleaming Serenity to return 100 glowing orbs, the source of Otto's family wealth, to rid his family of the annoying curse for good.

Featuring a 1-bit white and black aesthetic reminiscent of classic microcomputer games, CurseBuster tries to capture the essence of 1980s platformers. It is a nod to the retro gaming era, inviting you to experience a world filled with humor and surprises. Ready for a pixelated platforming journey?

🤩🤩awesome game. The style is very interesting

Thank you so much! I drew a lot of inspiration for the gameplay and art style from mid 1980s platform games on the ZX Spectrum microcomputer.

Really cool game! One thing I found particularly frustrating is that in one screen, I think one left from when you fall down, the creature appears exactly at the spot where you appear when entering the room, that's just lame. Everything else is spot on!

That seems to be a bug that I have been unable to reproduce. That is definitely not supposed to happen, and I will look into it. Thank you!

The game has been updated. Though I have not been able to come across this exact bug, I have repositioned some of the hazards and put some checks in to prevent something like this from happening again.
Hopefully this fixes the issue.

Ok cool, maybe I'll try again! Even though I've seen the whole game now, I think I still would like to fully finish it.
